The acclaimed 35-year-old Phoenix Dance Theatre return with their latest Mixed Programme promising an evening of world-class contemporary dance – made in Yorkshire. Featuring Windrush: Movement of the People (Choreographed by Artistic Director Sharon Watson) which celebrates the first Caribbean migrants to the UK to a soundtrack of jazz, R&B, calypso and reggae.

Watson’s headline piece is joined by Calyx, a new commission by emerging choreographer Sandrine Monin that explores the themes of beauty, desire and decadence; and a revival of Shadows by Christopher Bruce, now featured in the AQA GCSE dance curriculum, and described by The Times as “emotive, traumatic and weighted with memory — or is it fear?”
