Freelance Theatre Facilitator

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Freelance Theatre Facilitator to deliver engaging and inclusive arts activities for an intergenerational community company of local performers who are taking part in a project named ‘Doncaster People’s Theatre’. Multidisciplinary skills would be an advantage (music, dance, movement, drama).

Cast’s newly formed Community Board, who are made up of 7 local people who have taken part in participatory activities at Cast, will be responsible for the appointment of the Facilitator.

The Facilitator will be guided by the Community Board and the company to plan interesting, fun and creative workshops. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver one community workshop with refugees and asylum seekers in partnership with Doncaster Conversation Club (date/time TBC) and one workshop at Doncaster Pride on 10 August (time TBC)
  • Facilitate weekly workshops to culminate in a short sharing performance.
  • Guide and support participants in developing their theatre skills and increasing confidence.
  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants, encouraging intergenerational collaboration.
  • Collaborate with Cast’s Community Board and other stakeholders to ensure the success of the workshops and final sharing.
  • Oversee the preparation and execution of a final sharing performance at Cast on Friday 1 November.
  • Contribute towards the evaluation process

Location: Doncaster, UK

Fee: £1800 (Fixed Fee)
