A day of cultural appreciation, community engagement and the preservation of heritage.
Pre-event Masterclass (10am-12pm)
A participatory workshop of African drumming and 'Bata' dance. Available to anyone who has purchased a ticket for the Cultural Night.
Cultural Night (4pm-6pm)
The first act is a showcase of poetry, comedy, storytelling, music, and 'Bata' dance. This includes a 5-minute performance from participants of the pre-event workshop and a command performance of Òodàyè (The Cradle).
The second act features a 30-minute piece of new writing by the Writer, Director and Lead Facilitator of ÀTÙPÀ, Ajide Adeyemi.
Please note: There will be drumming in the foyer area ahead of the 4pm show and during the interval.
