About The Wind in the Willows

JKL Productions return to Cast with Alan Bennett's enchanting adaptation of Kenneth Grahame's beloved classic, The Wind in the Willows.

Join Mole, Rat, Badger and the enthusiastic Mr Toad as they embark on adventures from the idyllic riverbank to the splendour of Toad Hall, even braving The Wild Wood along the way.

Presented by one of Doncaster's longest running amateur dramatic companies, this magical production is a delightful start to the festive season.

A note from The Wind in the Willows director, Jan Townend:

"When Alan Bennett was asked by Nick Hytner to adapt Kenneth Grahame’s book in the form of a Christmas show to display all the technical capabilities of the National Theatre Alan realised his own theatrical imagination was limited. ‘But there’s a caravan in it and a horse and a motor car and a train and a barge’. Not to mention the river bank, Moles house, Badgers house, the wild wood etc. Mr Hytner said just write it and we will make it happen! Of course it was a great success.

Well JKL has the same problem but we love to create a little magic at the end of the year so we will make it happen with the help of Cast. Come and follow the adventures of Mole, Rat, Badger and of course Toad confronting the Wild Wooders with help from people they meet along the way.

Poop poop!"
