We're looking for friendly, reliable, licensed chaperones to join our team as Casual Chaperones to support our Participation team at Cast. You’ll help make sure young people and community participants feel safe, welcome, and supported while taking part in creative activities such as rehearsals and performances.

  • Act as a licensed and experienced chaperone during rehearsals, performances, and events at Cast and with partner organisations.
  • Support young people during rehearsal and performance—making sure they’re safe, comfortable, and well looked after.
  • Help the theatre to deliver a fun, inclusive and positive experience for everyone taking part.
  • Be a great role model—engaged, supportive, and encouraging to all participants.
  • Ensuring the safety and well being of participants, by ensuring that the safeguarding and health & safety policies are followed at all times.
  • Support with sign-in/sign-out, attendance records, and keeping track of participants.  Completing session feedback and activity forms as required.
  • Help with general tasks like preparing rooms or supporting participants with any needs they might have during rehearsals or performances.
  • Be a friendly face and a helpful team member at all times.

What We’re Looking For:

Essential:

  • A valid chaperone licence and experience of chaperoning.
  • A current Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to get one)
  • You must be a responsible adult who is capable of looking after and independently supervising the children and young people within your care
  • Knowledge of chaperoning and theatre or performance environments
  • Friendly, reliable, and approachable attitude.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Confidence in dealing with young people and parents/guardians.
  • Awareness of safeguarding and child protection (training can be provided).

Desirable:
