Cast theatre in Doncaster has launched an exciting competition for local schools to win free tickets to its Christmas family pantomime Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood.

For the chance to win free tickets to the pantomime for every child in their class, local children are being asked to design a new hat for Robin Hood. Templates are available from Cast’s website, social media and Box Office and all local schools are eligible to apply.

Winnie Widebottom, Sherwood Forest’s School Teacher, Dame and Maid Marion’s former Nanny comments:

‘That silly boy Robin Hood has lost his hat trying to steal from the rich and give to the poor. He can’t very well go around as an outlaw without a hat now can he? We need the children of Doncaster to help us design a new one! I love a bit of glitter and all things bonkers, so I can’t wait to see what you all come up with!’

Entrants to the competition close Friday 20 July 2018 with the winner announced before the summer holidays. All schools can enter including schools already booked in for their panto visit.

Not only will the designer of the best hat win tickets for all their class to go to the pantomime, the winning hat will also inspire the creation of a real costume.

Following record breaking pantomimes Beauty and the Beast, Jack and the Beanstalk and Aladdin, Doncaster's spectacular family Pantomime for 2018 promises to be the theatre’s best yet.

Sian Dudley, Head of Marketing and Communciations comments:

‘Many children don’t get to see a Christmas show with their families, so going as a school means that everyone can enjoy the glittering sets, stunning costumes and an all-singing-all-dancing company. Filled with mischief and plenty of derring do, the panto is the perfect way to make your Christmas magical this year with an action-packed and hilarious show, sure to hit the bullseye!’

Tickets are limited to one performance selected by Cast and limited to 30 tickets including teachers. Schools wishing to take part can contact
