DONCASTER CATCHES THE THEATRE BUG Copies of plays and novels have been left around Doncaster town centre for people to find, in what’s been dubbed the Theatre version of The Book Fairy made famous by British actor, activist and UN goodwill ambassador Emma Watson. Over 50 books and play scripts have been hidden in cafes, shops and landmarks around Doncaster. Each book is chosen because that play or story will feature in Cast’s Spring/Summer season, which begins on 27 February with a fundraising Gala Fan-CAST-ic. When a member of the public finds a book, they are entitled to a pair of free tickets to see the corresponding show at Cast. With over 100 tickets up for grabs, the race is on around Doncaster town centre to catch the theatre bug and bag a pair of free theatre tickets. Participating stores include Ward Brothers, Doncaster Tourist Information Centre, Intersport, Doncaster Markets and The Pud Store. Book hunters are advised to check out Cast’s Facebook and Twitter pages for clues throughout January to find where the books are hidden.
