Steve is a warehouse worker by day and a hip-hop artist by night. It doesn't take him long to realise the price of culture, and of stepping out of his comfort zone to do something different. We follow Steve over the course of one year as he struggles to balance his dream with his day-to-day work and responsibilities.
The film interweaves Steve's story and Sean's relationship with his family, set within a proud industrial fishing town trying to reinvent itself through the spotlight that City of Culture brings.
Can Steve - against the odds - unlock the opportunities to build a better life? Is social mobility possible in cities like Hull?
How long do you hold onto your dreams for?
Plus post-film Q&A: Director Sean and protagonist Steve will be in attendance for a Q&A.
