Professional Development Workshops for All with Rikki Beadle-Blair (MBE)
Start your new year right by joining the legendary Rikki Beadle-Blair for a series of professional development workshops at Cast. Each workshop is tailor made for artists to help you survive or prepare for a career in the theatre industry.

‘How to survive the industry and have the career you truly want - 10am - 11.45am

In this session we sort out how to overcome habitual self-limitation and explode unhelpful myths in order to create a career that is fun, fulfilling, focused and sustainable.  De-fanging all the scary ogres like self-doubt, lack of focus, fear of networking and how to write a great letter.

‘Life’s a Pitch: how to sell that project and have fun doing it’ - 12pm-1:45pm

An energising, accessible look at how integral pitching is to our working practice: We look at pitching to funders, filling in grant forms, attracting producers or fellow creatives, theatres, audiences, but initially pitching to ourselves  - clarifying the content of what we want to generate, instigate or promote and becoming clear as to how and why the work is essential, achievable and has an audience. It's all about how to make each pitch short, simple and sharp. And most of all... effective.

‘Take the screen scriptwriting workshop’ – 2pm – 3:45pm

This session covers how to identify and put together the original story that only you can tell, (By no means does this necessarily mean autobiographical). How to get it started, how to get it finished how to structure a plot and how to get the work in front of an audience.
