Cast Welcomes Audiences Back Safely for a Season of Work Re-connecting with the Borough

Cast today puts a full season of work on sale, focussing on free outdoor events for residents from across the borough and their biggest festive offering yet, with the annual highlight of the year – Cast’s BSL integrated pantomime (Aladdin), plus shows providing a broader offer for families, with Wish, a show created specifically for babies and their carers and Snow Mouse, a show for younger children.

Highlights for the season include:

  • More free outdoor events than ever – including Doncaster’s Reggae Festival and Global Streets’ We Are Watching – a comment on the Climate Crisis
  • Roundabout – a pop up performance space, packed with new writing and vibrant community performances
  • Broadest festive offer ever with a bespoke baby show, an intimate production for young audiences, and a family favourite pantomime
  • Most accessible pantomime yet, always with BSL integration and relaxed performances, plus this year the addition of distanced performances.

Deborah Rees (Director of Cast) said:

“It’s always exciting to be sharing a full season of work with Doncaster, but this year it feels more important than ever. I’m really pleased that we’ve been able to develop our programme of free outside events, kicking off with such an impactful comment on the climate crisis, and partnering with the Doncaster African Caribbean Support Group and Doncaster City Council on the Reggae Festival. Plus we’re bringing Roundabout back, an accessible pop up space to showcase the best of new writing, alongside community performances. Also, we’ll be sharing our broadest Christmas offer ever, including our annual pantomime plus a show we’ve been developing, created specifically for babies and their carers.”
