Public Acts

Public Acts is the National Theatre’s nationwide initiative to create extraordinary acts of theatre and community. From 2020, the NT will partner with Cast for a new Public Acts production, working with community organisations from the local area who share our vison of theatre as a force for change. Through these partnerships Doncaster’s diverse communities will take part in bespoke programmes, including weekly performance workshops, theatre trips and opportunities for socialising and creating together. At the end of the year everybody will be invited to come together as one company to perform in a new production in collaboration with professional artists.

Public Acts is supported by Arts Council England’s Strategic Touring Fund, Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, The CareTech Charitable Foundation, Garfield Weston Foundation, The Mosawi Foundation and 29th May 1961 Charitable Trust. The development of new music theatre is supported by the Genesis Foundation through the Genesis Music Theatre Programme.
